All raw honey will eventually crystallize. It isn't a matter of if, it's a matter of when. To facilitate honey removal once it happens, and for those folks who don't like to warm their honey; we have changed our product packaging to include wider mouth Mason style jars in 1.3 lb and 2.2 lb sizes. Thank you for your input, you spoke and we listened. Keep the suggestions coming!
Our Artisan honeys are harvested with painstaking care to preserve their purity and unique flavors. Our hives and supers are all serialized for traceability and we go to great lengths to ensure that our Wildflower honeys are never blended. We never heat our honey, using only a cold de-capping process, and then only lightly strain* it, thus ensuring that all the goodness inherent in raw honey is retained. Each super of honey is placed in a separate container and tracked with a unique lot number. As a result of our quality control, you won’t find a better tasting honey anywhere!
Our local raw honeys are harvested from our Honey Bee Restoration Project (HRP) hives located in Central Maryland, the Eastern Shore of Maryland areas.
We have partnered with the Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) to place our HRP hives within the Wye Island NRMA affording our bees access to a wide range of feral and unmanicured landscapes.
* Our raw honey is not heated and only lightly strained to preserve it’s natural goodness and inherent health benefits. The largest pollen grains in our area are about 200 microns in size. We use 400 micron strainers so that all of the pollen is retained.
